Bahrain Opens Its Waters to Kuwaiti Yachts with Simplified Permit System
In a major push to boost marine tourism, Bahrain has simplified entry procedures for foreign non-commercial pleasure yachts. Permits can now be obtained directly from the Ports and Maritime Affairs Department at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, without requiring a marine agent.
The one-year permit allows multiple entries once the yacht meets documentation requirements, including registration, navigation license or safety certificate, full insurance, AIS activation, and crew certification.
The new rules emphasize maritime law compliance, vessel seaworthiness, incident reporting, and exiting Bahraini waters within seven days of permit expiry unless justified.
